CONSlong and often late working hours, balancing work responsibilities with personal life, making difficult decisions to better meet business needs (e.g. staffing), balancing the needs of the meeting staff, the owner, the customer and personal needs. While you make a lot of friends while working in a restaurant, some people are what your manager will call “frictionals.” And for some reason, these people will stay and make your life hell for no good reason. Everyone has their own things to do at home, although this probably won't make you feel better while you're working and just trying to end your shift with a smile on your face.
Co-workers are supposed to unite against rude customers, not fight each other, right? After such bad people have left the restaurant and the stormy clouds separate, you can finally choose all the horrible things that guests said to you while you had the pleasure of serving them. The insults of her tacky blouse, her request for mayonnaise for her PIZZA and the sheer rubbish of the type of person who goes out to treat others who sees badly underneath her. This is a great way to let off some steam and connect with your co-workers, since everyone has bad customer stories. A disadvantage of being a restaurant manager is that you often have to work on the weekends, and while many of your friends will be able to spend those days with their loved ones, you will be at your restaurant and you may not be able to make many pleasant weekend trips or other pleasant things with your family.
